Nagarjuna's The Tree of Wisdom. She-rab Dong-bu.

Sacred Texts Buddhism Index Previous

p. 2
IN THE TIBETAN LANGUAGE
THE COMMENTARY OF MANNERS CALLED THE TREE OF WISDOM
(I DO) OBEISANCE TO THE THREE DEITIES.
1. Evil persons should be brought under control.
The wise should be reverenced.
Fill your treasury with honest deeds
(And) protect your own countrymen.
2. (As regards) your own secrets and those of others,
If you guard these as your own dear child
He for whom all earthly things are equal
Will make love for man the principal affection.

Some e.e. cummings and friends : ~#~ : Who Knows If The Moon's. ...

who knows if the moon's

who knows if the moon's
a balloon,coming out of a keen city
in the sky--filled with pretty people?
(and if you and i should

get into it,if they
should take me and take you into their balloon,
why then
we'd go up higher with all the pretty people

than houses and steeples and clouds:
go sailing
away and away sailing into a keen
city which nobody's ever visited,where

always
it's
Spring)and everyone's
in love and flowers pick themselves

Learning to deal (practise) with the Modern world by using Ancient Wisdom (* work in progress)

Ancient Wisdom, Modern World

Once we retreat from the outside chatter of the radio, tv, the internet, all of these things which can clutter up our mind's, our spirits and bodies. We will ntoice a similar not unrelated chatter continuing within our mind. Whic h naturally we would like to understand and still. To stop any unwanted visitors we have to place guards upon all the gates of ouur senses.

Noticing how our store consciousness are filled up with junk food from Modern sources and how we ha… Continue

Boy chosen by Dalai Lama turns back on Buddhist order ~#~ The boy is more likely to quote Jimi Hendrix than Buddha.

Boy chosen by Dalai Lama turns back on Buddhist order ~#~ The Guardian Newspaper 1st June 2009.

As a toddler, he was put on a throne and worshipped as by monks who treated him like a god. But the boy chosen by the Dalai Lama as a reincarnation of a spiritual leader has caused consternation – and some embarrassment – for Tibetan Buddhists by turning his back on the order that had such hi… Continue

The cycle or birth-death-rebirth could be likened to a raindrop in six billion raindrops falling to earth. (rebirth-birth) Flowing from the source down the river, over waterfalls through ravines (teenage years:), afew white water rapids through (mid-life) hopefully mellowing as we flow across the delta's and eventually reaching the ocean once moor (maturing)reaching the ocean. Then after much tyme, evaporating into the skys, (death) & lifted up by the sol-sun. At this point in the cycle we can either choose to end "samsara." ending the cycle of rebirth & crossing to the other shore, (Nibanna & Liberation) .. Or join the clouds to fall as rain once more. (rebirth) Over & & Over, Lifetime after Lifetime (intentional or unintentional)

A note concerning eminations

I remember "travelling" in meditation from a few years ago & then "recieivng" advice of wisdom concerning Eminations and how to regard these meetings that happen in "ireespace" between our "higher" selves. This very subtle state of mind found within a meditational state. I like to share pictures. Looking at earth from space,a vision of all 6 billion of us, and so on and so forth.

The warning is not to get to attached to these meetings upon the desire realm.
I.e "Stand in love not fall in love." as one of the Marleys said once or& "I'm not there" The Dylan film. & "The Spirits sleeping and the flesh is ink." as Robert Hunter from the Gratefull Dead so profoundly puts it.

Vajrayana, or Tantric Buddhism, has been described as the latest phase in the development and evolution of Buddhist thought. For a long time, Western scholars dismissed Vajrayana as the final "degenerate phase" of Buddhist thought. This attitude was due to the fact that these materialistic scholars had only a Christian or a secular way of seeing the world. They could appreciate ordinary Buddhism (Theravada, etc), seeing the Buddha as the Christ of the East teaching an essentially moral message, or as a sort of spiritual humanist; but when faced with a system of knowledge and practice that embraced all the magical and occult elements that Western rationalism had rejected centuries ago, could only explain it as some sort of degenerate end phase.

Fortunately, in more recent times other Westerners have studied Tantric Buddhism first hand, at the feet of actual Tibetan Masters, and so have a more mature appreciation and respect for that noble tradition. Indeed, if anything good has come out of the terrible Chinese invasion and oppression of the Tibetan homeland in the 2nd half of the 20th century, it has been that this has driven Tibetan lamas and teachers to the West, and encouraged them to spread their tradition among sympathetic Westerners.

Vajrayana metaphysics is, like Indian Tantra, a hybrid affair: a coming together of Indian Tantrism, Mahayana Buddhism, and the original aboriginal shamanism - the Bon tradition - of Tibet itself. Like the Nathas, Shaktas, and Shaivites, the Vajrayanists postulated a subtle or iconographic body, made up of chakras, nadis, and subtle winds (vayu). And like their Indian counterparts they worked on manipulating the forces of this subtle body through yoga in order to attain spiritual enlightenment. But Vajrayana tantra diverged very early from Indian tantra. Instead of the later seven-chakra model, they retain an earlier four chak-ra schema of navel, heart, throat, and head centres. Starting from this four-chakra foundation, the Vajrayanists - like the Indian tantics - built up a very elaborate system of correspondences.

There are a number of other important differences to Indian (Shakta) Tantra as well. In Indian tantra one starts form the base chakra and progresses up. In Tibetan tantra one starts from the head, which is the "lowest" level of consciousness (body, waking consciousness, wrathful deities), and progresses down to the heart, which is the highest level of consciousness.

With Indian Tantra the kundalini is awakened through specific breathing practices and yoga-postures. The prana or vital-force of the subtle body is thus manipulated through the breath and the physical body; through an extension of Hatha yoga which, the reader will recall, was associated from the beginning with Indian Tantra. In contrast, Vajrayana practice involves manipulating the vital force through the mind and concentration. Through intense visualisation of deities and so on, one activates the inner "winds" (= prana = ch'i) and "drops".

The Instead of the Kundalini-Shakti or "Serpent Fire" of Shakta Tantrism, Vajrayana has the Tumo (literally "fierce woman"). Through intense visualisation of deities and concentration upon the "lower tip" (the minor chakra at the tip of the sex-organ), the winds (prana) are drawn into the lower opening of the central channel (sushumna), producing an intense heat, called tumo. In her fascinating book, Magic and Mystery in Tibet Alexandra David-Neel popularised stories of Tibetan yogis drying icy sheets with their naked bodies outside in the middle of winter. That is a showy exhibition of tumo. Real tumo of course is the tantric meditation itself.

As a result of the tumo-heat, the drops melt and enter the central channel. The red "female" drops in the navel chakra ascends to the heart chakra, while the white drops in the crown chakra descend to the same chakra. The bliss of the drops flowing in the central channel is said to be a hundred times greater than that of orgasm.(IT is)The drops, moving up or down the central channel, finally enter the "indestructable drop" in the heart chakra, so called because it is said to be drop that passes from life-time to life-time, taking with it the "very subtle mind" and "very subtle wind"

The entire visualisation or meditation stage itself is called the stage of Generation, as its purpose of is to construct or generate an actual enlightenment or buddha-body, the stage of Completion. The result of all this is that one rises in an "illusory body",formless-form-desire so called because it is a spirit body rather than a physical body, and at death, rather than be caught up by the bardo and reincarnation, one remains in full consciousness in the illusory body, so attaining Buddhahood.

The Idea being by using templates that have been in use for 20yrs by the I.U.C.N, (World Conservation Society) to help implement a strategy to create Marine Parks or Spatial Area Protected Reserves around the UK & Europe. Aiming to create a sustainable fishery and consequently build awareness in the diverse amount of eco-systems that are inter-dependently reliant upon each other in all spheres on planet earth & in particular the oceans. The creation of a think tank (bright minds) which then could be used to provide positive advice/solutions to the relevant bodies, i.e. Goverments, Councils, (its all the same street). looking at the process as a whole, be it Local, National or International and how these different bodies use basically the same templates. Focusing single~pointedly on "alternative" marine energy's. Offshore wind farms, Tidal Turbines, Wave energy, pressure turbines, de-salination projects Did you know that if we harnessed just 0.1% of the energy in the oceans on earth we could supply the whole of this planets energy demands?

The Essential factor within the creation of The Lyonesse Project ethos, is to stem company's influence in the process by enabling the community, university's, schools, without the conflicts of interest that do occour when businesses becomes involved. (ref The Golden Triangle in North Carolina) Creating a charitable run trading company (same template as The Eden Project) which aims to supply electricity at a affordable cost, (with the charitable concern only looking to break even in its energy production fields). The creation of a unique world class visitor attraction. (sea above & below) taking people out of there normal enviroment's to illustrate a different view through a unique experience. The Lyonesse Project also would like to find the funding to aquire the Phoenix 1000 to conduct research within Marine Reserves around the UK/ European waters. See link below after screening or go to USSubs.

informal Insights from the historical Buddha, Shakyamuni & His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

INSIGHT from Shakyamuni Buddha.

"Don't look to me, but to the enlightened state."

"Monastics are instructed to be islands unto themselves."

~#~
INSIGHT from His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

" One of the most powerful visions I have ever experienced was (after) I saw the first photograph of the earth from outer space. The image of a blue planet floating in deep space, glowing like the full moon on a clear night, brought home powerfully to me the recognition that we are indeed all members of a single family sharing one little house.

"I always sat that people should not rush to change religions. There is real value in finding the spiritual resources you need in your home religion. In fact it is thought that this practise has a far more profoundly powerful effect in the world as a whole"

I am open to the guidance of synchronicity, and do not let expectations hinder my path.

"This new concept ought to be elaborated alongside the religions, in such a way that all people of good will could adhere to it. We ought to promote this concept with the help of scientists. It could lead us to what we are looking for."

"What science finds to be nonexistent, we must accept as nonexcistent, but what science merely does not find is a completly different matter. ... It is quite clear that there are many, many, mysterious things."

"There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart. our own temples. This body is our temple; my philosophy is kindness."

"I think in our daily experience, daily life, when we develop strong emotions, then you can't see the reality we should practise using our Deitys represented in our thankas that make up our celestial gallery.

Emptiness should be understood in the context of dependent arising and it should invoke a sense of fullness, of things created by causes and conditions. We shouldn't think that self is something that is originally there and then eliminated in meditation; in fact, it is something that never existed in the first place.
